Last night I had a Zoom call with my siblings in TO. It's hard sometimes to find things other than Covid-19 to talk about.
Our calls usually last a while and people are doing other things while on the call. My sister hand sewed a mask for her mother-in-law. She used material from an old pillow case with cute little sheep on it. I was shredding chicken, for the quesadilla Vader was making. When he was done all of us ate dinner on the Zoom call. Then Z showed his slide show presentation of BC, while I did the dishes.
We also talked about how to make Vegan Mandelbrot. I sent my niece my mom's (her grandmother's) recipe for the cookies as part of that recipe chain letter that was circulating. The recipe uses eggs, so S substited almond butter and reduced the oil. It sounds really good.
My brother was playing Sudoku during the call and petting his cats. My other sister showed us a birthday present she had just received - a Danish dough whisk and this thing called a lame, I think, for making shots on the to of bread loaves. This led to a whole discussion on baking bread, bread flour and using a bread machine for bagel dough. I might try that.

Last night it rained, so I had a shower and the clean underwear drawer is full again. Hooray! Our house's water is mostly from rainwater, we have a big tank in the garden that is filled from the water that comes off the roof. The weather has been very dry, which is very unusual for Ireland. It hadn't rained much in two months, so the tank was nearly empty. To save water we hadn't washed clothes in a few weeks, or showered in a few days. It's just as well that no one gets close enough to smell us. :-D I think the dogs like it when we are a little smelly though. (Edit. Haha lol.)

The city finally opened up so now we can play with friends, don't need your parents to give you a haircut, and more shops are opening, school will open soon though :(
But at least it’s getting closer to ending!
Also I’m making a new website on the same platform that Z uses! So that will be out soon!

It was a Monday, so I worked in my IT job from 8 until 12. I'm working on a project that helps the Health Service here in Ireland see what is happening with their IT help desk. Covid has made them much busier because so many people are working from home. Then I had lunch. Lunches have been interesting lately. Our household, my wife and I, are only grocery shopping once a month, so lunches usually involve finding creative ways to make a meal entirely from tinned or frozen food. Yesterday though, we had been shopping so I was able to have a sandwich. We are shopping as little as we can so that I can occasionally visit my Mam. I go see her after we've been two weeks without being in a shop or talking to anyone in person. After lunch I spent several hours beekeeping. We have a little beekeeping business, we sell honey and also little starter beehives. This a busy time of year for beekeeping, we are getting all our little hives that we sell started. We decided for dinner that we would have take-out, deep-fried chicken and chips Irish-Italian style. It tastes fabulous, but it's very bad for us, so we don't have it often.

On Wednesday I had heart surgery and have been resting the last couple days to recover. I still feel some pain but hoping that will get better over the next week. Tomorrow I'm going to go for a little walk so that I can get some blood circulation.
I also read the first book in the Artemis Fowl series. It was a good book, I'm looking forward to reading the next book and watching the movie.
I have been wanting to play Minecraft with Z for quite some time now, but I have a hard time playing on the phone or tablet. I bought and installed Minecraft for Windows 10 which is compatible with all the other versions except the Java version. Now I can play with Z while he's on the tablet.
I've also been researching a bunch of things that I would like to learn how to do. Fixing cars, electronics and getting better infrastructure/web development.

Today was a pretty usual day for me. I went to work for a 10:00-18:00 shift at Saint Pauls post anesthetic recovery room. It's quite interesting how quickly I've gotten used to the new rules at work. We have to have our temperature taken on the way in, no visitors are allowed in our area, etc. We can't do social distancing at work - I need to be close to my patients. I wear a bonnet, goggles, mask and a gown over my scrubs! I'll try send a picture of how crazy this is. Today was an especially good day - free lunch from a local hotel, a Filipino chicken dinner and the gift of a fob watch. On my breaks besides eating a lot of food, I like to play with word app games-classic Words or WordScapes. I went for my usual bike ride after work - the fresh air feels really good on my face after wearing a mask and googles all day.

Today was my sister Lisa's birthday. I organized a family Zoom call to wish her happy birthday and secretly invited a few of her close friends to join. She was very happily surprised, which was quite nice.
After lunch, Z and I did PE with Joe, via YouTube. I outlasted Z, who stopped doing the exercises a few minutes early. (Yay me)
In the morning we did our usual walk with the dog. It is so beautiful in the city right now with the apple, cherry and magnolia blossoms. I also really appreciate all the sidewalk chalk art that we pass. It's a nice way to start the day.
After dinner, we played board games - Munchkin and Rummy-o. That was fun too.
The other good thing that happened is that we posted a sign thanking our mail carrier last week and today he put up a lovely thank you note in response.

Played Minecraft with Z and did some schooling... I also did the OPERATION ROCKET!!
Now... you probably don’t know what that is, and if you do, then you can skip to the star ➡️*
Operation rocket 🚀 is a task that was assigned to my school where we make notes and send them to Johnny Rockets! Then they put them on lunches and send 200 free lunches to the nurses working during Covid-19! The lunches help the nurses to keep on helping stop coronavirus, and save many peoples lives!
*now that that’s explained I have made a Q/A!
1. Should I do these A) almost every day B) every few days C) once a week
(Edit: A would be amazing!)
2. Should I make these posts A) similar size to this B) bigger C) smaller
(Edit: A - similar size, great post!)
3.are you having fun or are bored A)fun B) bored C) in between D) going crazy!
(Edit: A - fun)
You can answer these questions in your posts! Just type:
For the Q/A... than write which letter do you think I should do!

I've done generally the same thing for the past week, so this log should tell you what I've been doing.
I usually wake up reluctantly between 7:30am and 8:00am depending on if I have an early morning meeting. My day start off with a coffee and a walk, which is a nice way to start the day.
During the day I go to a lot of meetings have have conversations with my team and other people. I've started to think about fun things to do with my team, we started playing Jackbox TV which everyone seems to like.
I eat lunch with my family and we all help in getting it ready. Today we watched some fun YouTube videos where we ate lunch.
In the evening T and I make dinner while Z plays online with his friends. We eat dinner together then watch a TV show, play games or have a video chat with friends and family.
Do you have any suggestions on what activities to do?
Go for a walk, video calls & [of course] Jackbox TV

What did you do on the date selected?
Today, I woke up, walked my dog (Barbie!) around the block in the beautiful sunshine. I made some coffee, did some morning stretches (yoga!), meditated, and then brushed my teeth and started checking my emails. I have been working ever since with a quick break to pet the dog and have some lunch. Later today, I plan to go on another walk, and maybe a bike ride, and then sit outside on the patio and enjoy the rest of the sunshine. I'm feeling very happy about the beautiful weather these days!
Do you have any suggestions on what activities to do?
- Bike riding (while keeping an appropriate distance from anyone around)
- Taking nice walks outside
- Sitting on the patio in warm clothes while the sunshine is out
- Playing chess
- FaceTiming friends
- Doing some spring cleaning (while you have the time!)
- Drawing
- Cross word puzzles (Edit. Thanks for all the suggestions!)
- Puzzles
- Baking
- Getting into a new practice (like meditating or yoga)
- Exercising (lots of exercise videos out there on the internet and social media these days!)
- Writing letters to pen pals or family members

I'll write about the past week or so, since I don't do that much on any one day.
Z and I are going to make homemade cheesy crackers, so we made the dough Monday night. I think we will bake them tomorrow. I'm excited to see how they turn out after they are baked.
We've been playing Jackbox.tv games over Zoom with friends and family. It's really fun.
Other than work and staying in a lot, I take the dog out on short to medium walks once or twice a day. We might have to find better routes or times of day, to try to avoid people more.
I think the dog is happy everyone is home but maybe a bit confused that she never goes in her crate anymore. Our neighbour put a dog treat on a hedgehog-shaped boot scraper outside her door two days in a row. Now Peanut checks every time we go by her door for new treats.
Z is very diligent at sticking to his school schedule. I'm impressed with his motivation and work ethic.
I'm very thankful to be self-isolating with Z, I and Peanut.

Maddie and I went on an early morning walk so she could poop and pee before breakfast. I only feed her once a day. She does get treats. Her favourite is a GREENIE. She barks to tell me when it is treat time. Her job during the day is to guard me and keep me from being lonely.
I found a sweater that I was making many years ago that I never finished. It has wool in the yarn and I stopped because we started to spend the winter in Florida and this sweater would be too hot there in the winter and too hot here in the summer. It is a very complicated fisherman’s knit pattern. Now is a perfect time to do it.
I have crocuses all over the garden, even in the grass out front. They look very pretty. I also see the tips of bulbs poking up. I just wish it was warmer. Yesterday I sat out back in the sunshine. Maddie liked being out with me. I was wearing a heavy ski jacket, hat and gloves. It really was not very warm but it felt good out there, in the fresh air.
Inside I sometimes I read or watch a DVD. I have lots of those. I also call my friends on the phone to see what they are reading.
Do you have any suggestions on what activities to do?
You might go online and watch a bagel making demo. Making bagels is fun. You have to boil them in hot water before baking them. The challenge is getting the hole to stay open in the middle. After a couple of tries I found twirling them with your finger in the hole works. (Edit. Wow thats a lot of writing, thanks!)

Today was a pretty chill day. I slept in until 9am then got dressed and had Nutella toast for breakfast.
